Why I do this

I had 2 calls yesterday with women founders. Both calls were what you might call 'crisis management' to a greater or lesser degree. I listened, offered solutions and just tried to pump them up during difficult times. We figured out a plan of action and I hope that they left the call invigorated and a little less stressed with more confidence that these issues would work out in the end.

I got 2 messages last night and this morning from these amazing founders expressing gratitude and thanking me for being there and supporting them. This is why I started Realm Startup Advisory and why I focus on under-represented founders. Since the first moment I started this company, I felt that connection (founder/market fit if you will) to my work. The gratitude that I received from these leaders and visionaries filled my heart and I knew this was what I was meant to do at that point in my life (and career). I tell people that I got more texts, emails and gifts thanking me in about 2 months than I did in ~20 years of work on Wall Street!

Why am I telling this story on social media? Not to humble brag but to inspire those out there that are unfulfilled in their career and hopefully inspire them to take that leap. You can start small, help 1 person or business - for free - and then another and pretty soon you will have the confidence to charge people for whatever product or service you provide. That first dollar that someone pays is so incredibly powerful. It will give you validation and conquer that Imposter Syndrome that we ALL have before we make it.

Put yourself out there. Tell 1 person your plans. Get it out into the universe and if you are fortunate enough to have someone in your life that will hold you accountable, tell them. They will follow up with you and push you when you become stuck or hesitant.

If this resonates with you, please share it with others - get the word out! Feel free to reach out if you need help too.
